Hello everyone,
Dr Margaret Chan, Director-General of WHO, said back in 2014 that the Antimicrobial resistance is not a future threat looming on the horizon. It is here, right now, and the consequences are devastating.
For the past years, I’ve been hearing, every now and then, that we are heading towards a post-antibiotic era, in which common infections and minor injuries can, once again, kill. This is the typical thing you hear about but you really don’t pay attention to, because it basically does not apply to you. But wait, it DOES apply to you, to all of us!
Fortunately, it is not too late to reduce the impact of antibiotic resistance and Vaxdyn has a part to play by changing history in the field of bacterial vaccines. This Spanish company is developing a vaccine composed of inactivated whole cells of a… bacterium!
