Toni J.G.

I have a BSc in Biotechnology and a MSc in Molecular Medicine. I have worked in research since 2010. I obtained my PhD in cancer biology and therapies in 2018. My work consisted mainly in characterizing the mechanism of action of a Myc inhibitor and preclinically validate its use as an anti-cancer therapy. In 2016, I also spent 6 month in the laboratory of Prof. Vladimir Torchilin a leader in the field of nanotechnology and in particular of lipid-based nanoparticles. In 2017, I joined the VHIO spin-off Peptomyc S.L., which I have seen evolving since its creation from the laboratory of the CEO, Dr. Laura Soucek, also my thesis director. In 2015, I also participated in the 2nd edition of “U2B: from university to business” where I learned some basic notions of business development and finances. During my PhD I have also collaborated with Pharma companies (Bayer and Johnson&Johnson).
As a result of my scientific activity, I am co-inventor of 2 patents and I contributed significantly to the reply of Office Actions of a 3rd one (although I am not considered inventor). I co-authored 5 published peer-reviewed articles, 2 accepted for publication and 3 now in preparation. Also I am co-author of a book chapter on Mouse Models of Cancer.
I am dynamic, proactive, motivated and resilient. I love challenges and I am always looking at new opportunities to grow professionally and personally. I thought that I could contribute to your platform and also learn and get more involved in project evaluation.
