Profile Information

First name Sandra
Last name Perez Baos
I have professional experience in:

Biotech, Cancer therapeutics, Immunology, Oncology, Therapeutics

Help us confirm that you're an expert

Since September 2019 I work as a postdoctoral scientist in the Schneider Lab at New York University Grossman School of Medicine (New York, NY), where I contribute to better
understand how the immune response is regulated at the mRNA translational level with a focus on T cells. During the last three
years, I have led and pioneered an innovative new understanding of T cell biology that paves the way for the
development of more precise and specific therapeutic approaches based on T cell translational reprogramming
for autoimmunity and cancer.

I am passionate about business and
biotech innovation, and I also truly want to contribute to generating and supporting transformative research
ideas that improve the health of our society.

In September 2021 I became part of the leadership team of Nucleate’s New York chapter, a non-profit
organization that empowers academic trainees to form life science startups by providing them with equitable
access to educational and networking resources on bioentrepreneurship. I perform scientific due diligence on
prospective technologies for our accelerator program, establish and manage relationships with mentors and
experts that advice our teams, and coordinate the mentor-mentee matching together with the team that I lead
as Mentor Relations Director.

Seeking to develop a deeper understanding in the development of biotech
opportunities and their commercialization, I joined NYU Technology Opportunities and Ventures as a Business
Development Intern in March 2022. This experience is equipping me with the skills and foundational knowledge
about technology commercialization and identification and outreach of potential partners in
pharma, biotech and VC. This has provided me with experience in dealing with both large and small
corporations in the life sciences space.
