I am a researcher and respiratory/critical care physician who for the last 12 years has worked supporting collaborative innovation projects in the life sciences. I help to bring together diverse teams to discuss and identify opportunities for novel concrete projects and creative solutions for problems during project implementation using my experience and a design thinking process. I work with academia, industry, disease foundations. I place a particular emphasis on helping smaller innovative life science companies (diagnostics, technology, and novel therapies) get the most out of open innovation. For me the biggest problem in the life sciences is the length of time it takes to go from scientific finding to clinical implementation – the translational gap. I am dedicated to finding ways to reduce that gap mostly through collaborations and open innovation strategies.
