Thomas Hoernes

My name is Thomas Hoernes, and I am a passionate life-scientist with business acumen. I have been trained as a molecular biologist and developed a strong research interest in the biology of small non-coding RNAs and also post-transcriptional modifications on coding RNA molecules. I have published my research in leading peer-reviewed journals and I have contributed to several successful academic grant proposals. I have been trained at the University of Innsbruck (Austria) and UC San Diego (USA) and hold a Ph.D. from the Medical University of Innsbruck (Austria) and an MBA from California Lutheran University (USA).

Today, I strive to bridge my interest in the life sciences and my aim to support patients by contributing to the chemical-pharmaceutical industry.

I am a young aspirational professional, who is eager to learn and – at the same time – support others to strive in the competitive biotech/pharma arena. Since I truly believe in the power of science and the advancement of us as human beings through technology and science, I want to support early scientific ideas to accelerate, make the right decisions and make the step from the lab bench to the bedside.
