Lucila kargieman

I’m a Research Scientist  with a strong background in Neuroscience and electrophysiology. I am a physician with a master’s degree and a PhD in Neurosciences from the Barcelona University, with more than 20 years of professional experience in basic neurosciences research. I have published scientific articles in high-impact international journals (more than 17) and I have presented papers in the field of neurosciences in more than 20 international conferences. Possesses extensive knowledge on recording, analyzing and interpretation of biological data from cellular to human behavior. I have a strong experience in the study of brain mechanisms involved in neurological and psychiatric disorders. During my scientific career, I have worked on different aspects of brain process using diverse types of electrophysiological techniques, allowing me to expand my expertise and to have the knowledge that is required to work in the field.
Since 2018 I began to focus my career towards the Neurotechnology market. Firstly, working for Starlight VC, as an external consultant for the analysis of Neurotechnology startups. During the first half of 2020 I have participated in a program for entrepreneurs (CITES training program for entrepreneurs 2020), and currently I develop as advisor to the director of the technology transfer unit of the Austral University (Buenos Aires) in projects related to Neurotechnology. I believe in the potential of Neurotechnology to improve people’s life, and help accelerate and explore human-machine interactions, and I’m passionate about the bigger role that Biotech is called to play in this decade that is starting.
