I currently work as an Associate Professor in Telco Engineering at Technical University Madrid, with over 12 years of experience in signal processing (mostly speech and audio) and Artificial Intelligence applications. With over 20 published contributions to high-impact publications and international conferences. I am a reviewer for Core-A conferences in Speech and Audio Processing (Interspeech and ICASSP) and Q1-JCR-indexed publications in IEEE.

I hold a Ph.D. (2013) and two master’s degrees (2007 and 2009). I received the 2013 IDEA2 from the Madrid+MIT consortium and have co-supervised two Doctoral Theses. I’m a member of the IEEE and the IEEE Sigpro Society and the Information Processing and Telecommunication Center (IPTC) at UPM, the board of the SSR-UPM department, and of the University and Engineering School senates, and Chairman of an Industry chair at ETSIT-UPM.

In 2018 I co-founded a Fin- and Insur-tech startup (DriviesAPP). I have participated in over 20 research and development projects with internationally renowned companies in Europe. I led 8 of these actions; four dealt with the research, while the rest focused on technology transfer.
