Joan Carles Bayón

I am professor of chemistry since 1993 at the Department of Chemistry of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Along this period, and the previous years as associate professor or Fulbright post-doc at the University of Michigan, I have been involved in wide number of academic and industrial projects. In particular, I was responsible for industrial research contracts, with national and multinational companies, in the area of synthesis of perfumes, as well in the development in new polymers, among others. Furthermore, in 2017 I started, within my institution, a professional post-graduate program, namely the Master in Fine Chemistry and Polymers. Since that year I have been responsible for the Master, together with a young colleague. The program involves almost two years of a company internship for the students. Along my task as responsible I have the opportunity to assess the final master projects presented by the students, under strict NDA, and also to closely interact with personal of some of the most important fine chemical, pharma or polymer companies located in this economical region.
