I have an undergraduate degree (First Class honours) and PhD in cell/stem cell biology. I have a Master’s degree in Bioscience Business Management and have been a programme Manager at the Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult in London, where I am responsible for for evaluating, managing and delivering internal and external projects associated with novel cell therapies for which the roles requires significant academic liaison, scientific evaluation, business plan preparation and intellectual property review. During my master’s degree I became the acting CEO of a virtual company (spun out of the programme) and led a team to win the annual business plan competition. From 2015-2017 I was a Business Mentor for a university team undertaking the Innovate UK/HEFCE-funded Innovation-to- Commercialisation programme (ICURe) helping the company to write a business plan, receive £400k Innovate UK grant funding and successfully launch.
