Francesc Cabré holds a PhD in Chemistry (University of Barcelona) and an IESE diploma (University of Navarra). After a period as researcher at the Medical College of Virginia, Richmond US, he specialized in molecular pharmacology and mechanisms of drug action, and focused his career mainly to pharmaceutical research in different companies, occupying various positions and responsabilities: Head of Molecular Pharmacology, Director of Pharmacology and Pharmacokinetics, and Director of R&D. One of its most significant and well-known milestones was its participation in the discovery and development of the non-steroidal analgesic and anti-inflammatory drug dexketoprofen, known for its worldwide brand Enantyum® and one of the best-selling analgesics. He currently collaborates as a scientific and technical advisor with the Medical Department of the Menarini Group and with the R&D Department of the company of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients Moehs Ibérica. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biomedicine at the University of Barcelona and Collaborating Professor of the Master’s Degree at the Autonomous University of Barcelona “Industrial Chemistry and Introduction to Chemical Research”, as well as of the Degree in Biomedical Sciences at the International University of Catalonia
