I obtained my PhD in the field of genetics in 2010 while carrying out research at the Center for Cancer Research at MIT. My thesis work explored how having an aberrant number of chromosomes impacts cell growth and cell cycle entry – very relevant to understanding how tumors develop. I then held research appointments at the department of Systems Biology at Columbia University and the Danish Cancer Society (DNA damage response). My postdoctoral work harnessed the power of next generation sequencing to explore protein synthesis in brain tumors – using both an animal model and tumor samples from patients. This work also addressed the complex issue of tissue heterogeneity in the brain.

I’ve spent the last couple of years working alongside principal investigators from universities and hospitals and pharma/biotech stakeholders with a view to developing collaborative projects at both the preclinical and clinical levels and advancing new diagnostic tools and new therapies in several neurological and oncology indications.
