Luis Medina Sanchez

Luis holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Science from the University of Sheffield (United Kingdom). In addition to his research experience, he enjoys approaching science from an application standpoint, which ignited his interest in Technology Transfer, Innovation Management, and Bioentrepreneurship.To pursue his interests, he collaborated in the UK as a Business Development Associate at Innovation Forum, a non-profit accelerator for healthcare ventures. In the USA, he worked at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) – Technology Transfer and Intellectual Property Office. During his time at the NIH, Luis drafted and negotiated various agreements, including collaboration agreements and license agreements for NIAID with national and international industry, academia, and non-profits, facilitating the development and commercialization of early-stage discoveries.Upon returning to Mexico, he worked for Bionovation Consulting Firm, where he managed Technology Transfer and Technology Scouting activities. His role aimed to accelerate the pace at which innovation developed in Latin American universities and companies could be transformed into useful products, services, and technologies.
