PhD in Neuroscience (first year in Berlin at the MDC and the following three at the Rockefeller University in NY). I identified an orphan G protein-coupled receptor as a potential target for addiction to multiple drugs of abuse, including nicotine, morphine, cannabinoids and opioids. I developed and optimized a cell-culture assay for drug screening. I developed an in silico model of the receptor to screen a virtual chemical library.

Postdoc in Neurooncology (Cancer Institute UCL in London). I developed models of glioblastoma for pre-clinical assays, analyzed transcriptomic and genomic data in search for drug targets, successfully used CRISPR technology to model human glioblastoma, analyzed and characterized glioma stem cells shown to underlie chemotherapy resistance.
