Xavier Ortega González

Over 7+ years of experience managing large and complex R&D projects, in both the public and private sector, with a special focus on developing new pharmacological therapies for neurodegenerative diseases.
I began my career in the industry by participating as a shareholder in Neurotec Pharma, a start-up company that implemented a Phase IIa trial for Multiple Sclerosis. After several years in the public sector working as an R&D scientist, I evolved into Management positions at Research Institutes (e.g., as Project Manager Coordinator of European projects). Then, I jumped to work at BioSystems S.A. managing the development of IVD products that were successfully launched to the market. Working in both public and private environments has provided me with a vast understanding of the regulatory aspects of developing R&D projects.
Nowadays, as Project Manager at Minoryx Therapeutics, I am fostering an environment of teamwork and ensuring that strategy is clearly defined and integrated into the clinical program of the company while overseeing performance and budget.
My education includes a PhD in Biomedicine; a MSc in Neuroscience and I am a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) by the Project Management Institute.
