Rita Vassena

Dr. Vassena leads the Research & Development area in the area of human assisted reproduction of the Eugin Group, one of the largest chains of fertility cleinics worldwide, and directs the Group’s basic research laboratory, in Barcelona. She is Co-Director of the International Master in Human Assisted Reproduction Technology at Pompeu Fabra University. Dr. Vassena is also an expert evaluator for financing programs for innovative companies of the European Commission, she is a scientific advisor for start-ups in the fertility area, and she has a master’s degree in business administration from ESADE.
Dr. Vassena has been a member of the Executive Committee of ESHRE (European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology), the largest scientific and medical society dedicated to infertility; In the same society, she has also been Coordinator of the Stem Cell Interest group, and head of the local organizing committee of the ESHRE Barcelona 2018 congress. She is currently member of the executive committee of SEF, the Spanish Fertility Society. Finally, Dr. Vassena has developed an outstanding international career having trained and worked in Italy, Canada, USA and Spain. She published more than 100 research papers in international magazines and book chapters and is an international KOL in this field.
