First of all, I would like to highlight my 10 years of experience in the conversion of clinical research into practical applications. As the head of innovation and technology transfer in a healthcare institution I am in charge ofproviding support to different research groups and entrepreneurs to create new business opportunities. I manage a portfolio ofapproximately 30 projects with national and international universities, institutions and industries, in order to innovate in the field of health tecnologies, medical devices, ICTs and image diagnostics, generated from the medical staff and reserchers.
I have been trained and have experience in intellectual and industrial property, in negotiation and commercialisation techniques and in collaboration agreements between institutions within a public-private framework.
I have fostered the implementation and procedure of the R&D and innovation management system and the regulatory policiesin my institution. Alongside the management, I define the strategic objectives in innovation, annual targets and monitoring indicators. Furthermore, I work as a consultant for national hospitals in the implementation of a successful and innovative healthcare modelwhile fostering innovation.
My current employment is in BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH INSTITUT OF THE “HOSPITAL DE LA SANTA CREU I SANT PAU” (from June’17) as a Chief Innovation & Technology transfer officer and Deputy Director of Research Institut, and my main responsabilities are:
– Assist the Scientific Direction in the design, coordination and monitoring of the Institute’s to R&D & Innovation strategy.
– Lead the Research and Innovation management system.
– Management of the technological innovation developed by the Institute, from ideas uptake to its transfer to the market once converted into products or services.
– To facilitate technological collaboration between our research groups and industry.
– To support funding for technology development projects.
– Management of the Institute’s intellectual property.
– To support the creation of spin-offs and start-ups.
– Search for public and private funds.
– Strategy for attracting talent, especially at International level
– Manage strategic relationships through the different networks of which the Institute is a part.
– Design of business lines in the Institution
