Miroslava Prades-Ogorelkova

I am a molecular biologist, I hold a PhD degree in Biomedicine from the University of Innsbruck and a post-graduate certification in Management and Entrepreneurship from the IE Business School (Accelerate: Building Business from Science and Technology).

I worked in research for almost 10 years, in prestigious research centers in Austria, Canada and Spain; I successfully leaded research projects in neuropsychiatric and cardiovascular disorders, in rare diseases, and in applied research (protein expression systems and advanced cancer therapeutics).

I joined the Pharma & Biotech industry in 2007. Since then I’ve worked in development of diagnostic tests and in management of drug development projects, gaining expertise in all phases of “bench to market” process and being involved in R&D, prototyping, manufacturing, regulatory and clinical activities.
I currently work in Clinical Research (Business Development) establishing project execution strategies for clients.
In parallel, I also provide free-lance scientific consultancy and project management services to a start-up biotech company working on Point-of-Care diagnostics (Cornea Project S.L.).
I am also an independent expert-evaluator at the EC (H2020) reviewing project proposals related to drug development (clinical phase), new diagnostic approaches and rare diseases.

I’m deeply interested in the advances of science and technology. I’ll be very excited to be part of the Bioexpert Network of Capital Cell and to help companies and investors in the successful development of novel biomedical applications.  I’ve been involved in evaluation of commercial potential of research on many occasions and I truly believe that my strong scientific background coupled with solid experience in product development and with business knowledge will be of added value for Capital Cell.
