I have professional experience in:

Bioinformatics, Neurosciences

Help us confirm that you're an expert

I have a Master degree in Physics of Biological Systems and a Ph.D. in Biophysics (Doctoral School in Biology and Molecular Medicine) obtained at the Sapienza University of Rome. I studied the metabolic interactions between neurons and astrocytes in mammalian brain using computational modeling, ex vivo biochemical analyses as well as in vivo functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy (1H-MRS), electroencephalography (EEG), two-photon microscopy (TPM) and other optical techniques. My primary research interest is the relation between brain activity and energy supply and demand, including but not limited to cortical state changes, sensory perception, neuron-glia metabolic interactions, energy efficiency of neural coding and information processing, metabolic pathways sustaining neuron-glia signaling and every aspect underlying the link between metabolism and function.
