Marc Yeste-Velasco

A molecular biologist with a strong scientific research and clinical development record in biopharma industry and academia (R&D, translational science, biomarkers, targeted therapies, oncology, cancer research, business development & licensing…). Highly experienced in designing, writing, coordinating and directing scientific projects; obtaining non-dilutive public funding; in establishing and managing collaborations with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), in science communication and in scientific licensing.

Currently, I am the Director of Translational Research & Scientific Licensing at Ability Pharmaceuticals. I am responsible for developing the biomarkers program associated to our clinical stage drug candidates. I design, coordinate and analyze preclinical and clinical studies required to identify predictive biomarkers (companion diagnostics) and pharmacodynamics biomarkers to monitor drug activity, as well as preclinical studies to investigate drug´s mechanism of action. I am also responsible for non-dilutive public funding seek and preparation of grants. My additional responsibilities include: management of academic collaborations; coordination of multidisciplinary teams that include research centers, hospitals and CROs; establishment and development of relationships with key opinion leaders; preparation of regulatory documents (IND, CTA, ODD…); diffusion of results by writing papers and attending meetings; and scientific support for intellectual property and business activities.
