Lukasz Stasiak

I have a very strong technical and life sciences background. At the Lodz University of Technology (Poland), Faculty of Biotechnology I received extensive training in the field of life sciences, chemistry, physics but also engineering, the theory of machines, electronics, and others. I completed 1 year Master’s project at The University of Chicago where I worked on receptor-mediated drug delivery to cancer cells. I completed a DPhil (PhD) focusing on epigenetics and DNA modifications. A part of my training focused on autoimmune diseases of CNS. During my DPhil studies, I also took full advantage of the business courses organised by Saïd Business School, and IP workshops organised by various UK organisations. I also completed an internship at Patent Attorney Office where I further developed my skills in prior art search, prepared patent applications and amendments. I co-developed Oxbridge Biotechnology Roundtable (OBR) and its Consulting branch. Working as a VP for Industry Immersion, then Consultant Project Manager and finally Head of Consulting, I gained an excellent understanding of the process of commercialisation of new ideas, the importance of IP protection in a competitive marketplace, and the value it creates for start-ups and growing businesses. Across many consulting projects, I worked on evaluating innovations, building business models, creating commercialisation strategy for innovations as well as communication and branding strategies. In my current role I focus on the human component of creating successful life sciences business and work with executive management teams, boards and VC firms on optimising composition, governance and expertise their executive teams and boards.
I constantly expand my expertise in biotechnology valuation, entrepreneurship and business through self-thought courses.
