Dr Saleh is a skilled Orthopaedic surgeon, Board certified and fully licensed in the United States (American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons) as well as Canada (Fellow of The Royal College of Surgeons). He is a respected member of the medical profession and is strongly considered a national and international thought-leader. Dr. Saleh has provided over 100,000 patient consultations, performed over 7,000 Orthopaedic Procedures. He, also, has developed and holds 5 patents. The impact of this work can be measured globally as evidenced by the international implementation of a number of health-measurement metrics, economic policies and medical guidelines recommendations that were adopted by a number of Health Ministries, Organizations and Institutes. He holds a strong record in quality and patient safety. Dr. Saleh has cowritten over 300 publications, and was the Sr. editor of 6 textbooks, mentored hundreds of students, residents and fellows, and led institutionally, nationally and internationally in the Orthopaedic & Surgical field. This large body of work involved over 650 collaborators, was supported by 50 grants totaling 11.5 million dollars in financial support and resulted in 50 honors and awards and 400 invited presentations delivered at dozens of International meetings, as well as over 54,000 downloads of this work by the scientific and medical community.

Dr Saleh has provided world-class healthcare leadership experience, built on the foundations of more than 20 years of work in surgical care settings. Fifteen years of upper management experience at 4 nationally ranked medical organizations. Successfully developed and implemented comprehensive profitable surgical-improvement programs that reduced costs, increased quality and efficiency, across the spectrum of healthcare settings, ranging from for-profit to none-for-profit, academic to private, and rural to urban. Using wide-ranging data, stakeholder input and collaborative teams, developed and implemented several large-scale projects requiring extensive knowledge across multiple healthcare domains to attain and exceed organizational goals and objectives. Developed and implemented value-based delivery Musculoskeletal programs, by collaborating with large, high profile physician groups, IPAs, PHOs and hospital networks to find common ground and solutions that were mutually beneficial for payers, providers, and the organization. Built strong relationships with providers and key contacts in the Healthcare Network, that ultimately elevated the Healthcare organizations and the Physician Groups well ahead of industry movements. Executive-in-Chief for the Detroit Medical Center Musculoskeletal Institute of Excellence, Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine at the Detroit Medical Center (DMC), a 9 hospitals system that has more than 2000 licensed beds, 3000 affiliated physicians, and over 12,000 employees. Provided the strategic leadership, oversight, and planning for the growth of the clinical and administrative service operations, while monitoring and optimizing clinical quality, volumes, operational efficiency, and financial performance. My efforts were geared towards providing leadership, creating a culture of excellence, positive work environment, training opportunities, and elevating employee satisfaction to 250 providers. Attaining the goal of optimizing efficiency, quality and patient safety for the service line led to 17% growth 2-years consecutively and become a recognized leader in academic musculoskeletal care. The DMC was the official healthcare service provider for the Detroit Tigers, and Detroit Red Wings. I also was responsible for setting the academic and scholarly mission for the Musculoskeletal Institute through optimization of the educational and research activities serving as Residency Program Director and Adult Reconstruction Fellowship Director. I created and directed of the Institute for Innovation and Clinical Excellence, where research grew exponentially, publications and presentations increased 7-fold (from 7 to 49), and subspecialty participation enhanced tremendously. To align other service lines with Orthopaedics, I developed and co-directing the Perioperative Institute for Surgical Excellence which was focused on aligning physicians and optimizing resources and to impact organizational processes to achieve the highest quality of patient-centered care delivery, and patient satisfaction. The product of this work generated a number of quality projects that were eventually published under the Innovation Institute.
