Help us confirm that you're an expert

I am a PhD candidate at Zoonotic Infectious Diseases Unit, at the Rega Instituut, KU Leuven; under the supervision of Prof. Piet Maes and Prof. Marc van Ranst. I am currently holding a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action (MSCA) Initial Training Network (ITN) scholarship, as Early-stage researcher 15 at HONOURs for enhancing full-length genomic NGS assembly of viral pathogens with large genomes (> 100 kbp).

My research areas include (i) cutting-edge advances in sequencing (mainly nanopore sequencing), (ii) bacterial and viral metagenomics and virus discovery through NGS, (iii) assembly of bioinformatic pipelines for genome assembly, variant analysis and taxonomic identification, (iv) classical virology on human dsDNA viruses (herpesviruses, polyomaviruses, poxiviruses and papilloma viruses) and recently (v) SARS-CoV-2 sequencing, evolution and adaptation in culturing systems.
