Patrick Lam

Patrick is a strategy consultant and diabetes scientist with over 10 years of translational drug discovery experience in metabolic disorders. He is author of 18 high-impact articles and a filed drug utility patent to the USPTO for one of his many innovations. He is recipient of over 20 national and international merit awards, including the prestigious CIHR and CDHF national doctoral awards, and has delivered over dozens of presentations to audience in the public and private sectors nationwide and internationally.

Patrick is a trusted business adviser and supportive team-player, serving clients and consulting teams primarily within the health vertical on issues of product launch and growth strategies, operations effectiveness, and high impact project management / implementation initiatives. His track-record as a business consultant complements the social impact he delivers as a community builder. Since 2003, he is the founder of 2 non-profit organizations focusing on music education and music-cultural appreciation in Asia, Europe and North America, with sponsors that include the prestigious Berliner Philharmonic Orchestra. Closer to home in Canada, he volunteers as a senior consultant with Collaboration Partners, where the Government of Ontario is one of his clients.

Patrick is an alumnus-ambassador of the University of Toronto. He bridges partnerships across academia, community and industry to drive scalable and sustainable solutions. Project highlights in recent years include serving as project lead at the social enterprise challenge hosted by the Clinton Global Initiative and as the biotechnology consultant at the OneStart biotechnology challenge supported by SR One. He is on the Executive Board of the Canadian Diabetes Association-University of Toronto Chapter.
