Natalie Pankova

Dr. Natalie Pankova holds a PhD from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto, where her work forcused on inflammatory disease and retinal degeneration. Additionally she worked on advanced diagnostics and precision medicine strategies, which turned into a career in biotech, drug development and digital health.

She is the Chief Operating Officer at Metadvice, a digital health startup building artificial intelligence – driven clinical decision software to enable doctors and pharma executives combine the avalanche of newly available medical information into real time decision making, while simultaneously enabling patients to retain access rights to data using distributed ledger technology (DLT). She has led operations in drug discovery and development, health technology and machine learning, building novel technologies from the ground up, and was previously Chief Operating Officer building a global blockchain-based genomics data sharing platform for advancing precision medicine.

She is on the Board of Novai, an ophthalmic biotech startup developing biomarker and AI-based diagnostic software technology, as well as a Board Member of a 250-person Hospice Nonprofit and a Multiple Sclerosis Patient Engagement Nonprofit.

Furthermore, Natalie is a Digital Health Expert at the World Health Organization, an Associate Lecturer at Claude Littner Business School where she supervises consulting students working on biotech and healthtech projects, and is on the Editorial Board of Frontiers in Blockchain Journal, as well as an Advisor and Mentor to early stage innovative startups.
