Domenica Marchese

I am a medical biotechnologist and I hold a PhD in Biomedicine at the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) in Barcelona. My research has been mainly focused on molecular and gene regulatory mechanisms related to Parkinson´s disease by using different in vitro and cell-based assays. The results of this project have been successfully published in Nucleic Acid Research journal (PMID: 29149290). During the last year I have worked as a product specialist in Werfen company, in the area of Applied Science, giving advice and technical assistance on products and instruments for molecular biology and biochemistry applications. I am also passionate about science teaching and communication, and for this reason in 2017 I have co-organized and delivered a course on real time PCR at the University of Khartoum (Sudan), in collaboration with the NGO “TReND in Africa”.
