My education includes a B.Sc. in Mathematics (2004-2009, University of Barcelona) and a B.Sc. in Biotechnology (2006-2012, University of Barcelona). I made my PhD in a gene translation laboratory (2013-1018, IRB Barcelona) where I specialized in bioinformatics and statistical analysis. During my PhD, I analysed the transcriptome of several species, where I found those regions whose translation is prone to be regulated by the ubiquitous protein (Adenosine Deaminase acting on tRNAs) ADAT based on its codon composition. We discovered several families of proteins (ex. the family of Mucins in humans) whose translation could be potentially regulated by ADAT. Our results are currently being experimentally validated. We extend the analysis to a series of eukaryotic and bacterial organisms, spanning the whole tree of life (more information: https://goo.gl/xrtRDM).
