Anni Mörö

I have PhD in cell and tissue engineering. I have developed human stem cell therapies for ocular diseases for the past 12 years. For the past 5 years, my research has focused on 3D bioprinting of human tissues (cornea, cardiac, neural, liver and vascular). Our team was the first to 3D bioprint human stem cell based cornea using laser-assisted 3D bioprinting. I am currently leading a commercialization project at Tampere University, where a research-based bioink innovation for 3D bioprinting of human tissues and organs is commercialized. I am also responsible of the 3D bioprinters at our University medical faculty and I act in the steering group of Finnish medical 3D printing network. I have also co-founded a startup called StemSight Oy, a company developing off -the-shelf- cell therapies for treating cornea blindness. I act as a COO and a board member of our company.
