Ali Hasan

Ali is a physician executive who has a rich breadth of clinical, commercial, and operational experience. His experience spans health funding, healthcare services, and pharmaceuticals and medical products. Ali has worked as a generalist across these industries and holds particular interests in strategy, performance, commercial and business development and risk, and transactions.

Ali initially trained at St George’s Hospital Medical School and practiced medicine at teaching hospitals in London. He also was involved in research, teaching, and other endeavours during training and clinical practice. He subsequently joined McKinsey & Company and worked as a consultant internationally. Following this he joined Bupa as Regional Medical Director, and also undertook independent advisory work and was a board member of Parafricta, a medical products company. He is currently Clinical Operations Director at Vitality Health, where he holds responsibility for various areas including all healthcare spend, medical underwriting, management of the >25,000 providers in the UK, healthcare commissioning, and other areas. He is also Chair at CCSD, Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Finance and Performance Committee at South West London and St. George’s Mental Health Trust, and a Director at the Healthcare Purchasing Alliance. In addition to being a physician, Ali is also a Member of the Faculty of Public Health and a Fellow of the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management.
