Anna is a Researcher Associate at the MRC Centre for Molecular Bacteriology & Infection (CMBI) at the Imperial College London.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Biomedicine in 2012, and an MSc in Molecular Biotechnology, in 2013, from the University of Barcelona, Anna worked as a Research Assistant at the Institute for bioengineering of Catalunya (IBEC). Anna completed her PhD in 2017 with Dr. Eduard Torrents, at the Laboratory of Bacterial Infections: antimicrobial therapies, IBEC. During this time, she studied the regulation of proteins involved in cell division of Pseudomonas aeruginosa in planktonic and biofilm conditions. In 2018, Anna joined the laboratory of Dr. Avinash Shenoy at Imperial College. She studies the regulation of cytokines in sterile or infection conditions, in vitro (macrophages) and in vivo (mice), to understand mechanisms of inflammation.
